FAQs

Allergen Information:

Most of our meltable, triangular cheeses are made using organic, non-GMO, unsweetened soya milk. However, our cultured cream cheeses & our "To Brie or Not to Brie" are made with cashews or freshly made almond milk. Some of these cheeses also miso (containing soy), while others contain mustard. This is all clearly labelled on our packaging as well as on each product page.

So for those with a nut allergy, although our soya-based cheeses are nut-free, please note that we do handle and use nuts in our facility.  But please feel free to get int touch with us if you are unsure or have any more questions regarding allergens. We take this very seriously & we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

What is the shelf-life?

Our cheeses all have between 10 days to 3 weeks depending on the product and proper storage. We make all of our cheeses fresh weekly and do not use any preservatives. We are therefore, conservative on use by dates with a date stamp of two weeks from the day we ship our cheeses out.

We do this just to be safe because once they leave our facility, we can never be sure of fridge temperatures or if the cheeses were left out, proper storage etc. But if the storage guidelines are followed, they can last from 2-3 weeks.

Our cashew cream cheeses and sauces have a shelf life of 10-14 days.

Can your cheeses be frozen?

Yes! All of our block cheeses can be frozen, they freeze wonderfully and can be defrosted in the fridge! Many of our pizzeria customers swear by melting it straight from the freezer, so who are we to argue!

Do your cheeses melt?

Yes, they do!! All of our block cheeses actually do melt like a dream! They all brown under the grill, melt lovely in a toastie or on a pizza.

Our Nozza Mozza, Erb and Alho are all used in several pizza establishments and melts just like their dairy counterpart! They are great in and on anything! We like to put them on pasta for that extra cheesy, gooey, creaminess!

Still not convinced? We get it, because we’ve seen a lot of cheese that refuses to stay melted, so take a look at our "Does it Melt" highlights reel on Instagram, we are sure you'll be convinced after you see that!

Do you ship UK-wide?

As of December 2023, we are currently looking for a new, bigger, more suitable manufacturing space, so unfortunately, we have had to pause our nation-wide shipping for the moment. The temporary space we are in is just too small to allow for this, however we will return to shipping UK-wide as soon as we can, please watch our socials for these announcements as we make this transition. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Do your cheeses need to be refrigerated?

Yes they do! They are at their best when kept refrigerated and served chilled.

The To Brie or Not to Brie, however, is at its best when served just slightly at room temperature! We like to take this one out of the fridge a wee bit before serving!

Please do follow storage instructions on the label & refrigerate them as soon as you receive your cheeses.

Do you use plastic? Is your packaging environmentally friendly?

We take the health of our planet very seriously, we consider ourselves to be stewards on this earth, and believe we should all do our best to look after this gorgeous planet of ours.

Therefore, we have never, nor will we ever use single-use plastic or any plastic for that matter, and we try hard to avoid it even in our production process. Even the tape we use to wrap your package is made from recycled paper!

Traditional plastic alternatives are made of 100% polyethylene, but our cheese wrap is primarily composed of calcium carbonate and other trace minerals. This reduces the amount of plastic used by 60% while preserving resources and reducing waste! Our cheese packaging is 100% recyclable & is BPA free.

You may see the odd plastic-looking air-pocket that we often use to fill our boxes, these are re-used from shipments we get in and are always also recyclable.

All this being said, we are always open to new ways how we can do better! So if you have any suggestions at all that you'd like us to consider, please don't hesitate to get in touch! We aim to put out our statement on sustainability and our carbon footprint ini 2022 so stay tuned for that.

Can you tell me what ingredients you use?

You can find all the ingredients to all of our products on their individual product pages on our online shop.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not just yet, but we would love to in the future!

Do you offer any sample selections of your cheeses?

We don't have a sample box just yet, but we do offer a "newbie box" for those new to dairy-free or vegan cheeses. This gives you a sample of our products and a few accompaniments. Please, see our shop for more details on this.

UPDATE DEC.2023: our newbies box will return in the new year!
